Demko AD20.5 with AWT Scales
Today we’re gonna check out the Demko A D 20 point 5 Tanto!
This Tanto blade is an exclusive model from DLT Trading and features CPM-3V steel. The Tanto model usually comes in black, O D green or tan G10 scales but this example has been modified with cast iron gray, type 3 anodized aluminum scales from Applied Weapon Technologies. . . or AWT.
The 3.17″ blade is not only razor sharp but it looks absolutely wicked with the American Tanto blade profile and 3MM of 3V thickness! It is a perfect EDC size knife, coming in at just under 7-3/4″ but this knife will perform well above it’s size class thanks to the Shark Lock system designed by renowned knife maker, Andrew Demko.
The factory G10 scales are light weight, grippy and very suitable for everyday use but the AWT aluminum scales are a substantial upgrade offering uncompromising strength, light weight and a super comfortable grip thanks to AWT’s slightly chamfered edges and attractive “Agent Series” milling design. The milling feels great in hand with a reliable grip surface that is comfortable and grippy but not too aggressive or sharp. These scales are special edition, cast iron gray anodized prototypes but they are currently offered for sale in a handful of different Cerakote colors.
The shark lock is the stand out feature on the AD20.5 featuring the shark fin control on the spine of the knife that allows the user to manipulate the blade open and closed while never letting their fingers get in the path of the blade, plus it is known to super fidgety with exciting acoustics that will keep you entertained between your normal everyday knife tasks!
The AD20.5’s Tanto blade is finished with a signature Demko stone wash that adds durability and a tough as nails look to this already impressive knife! The starting weight was 3.7 ounces and the AWT scales brought it up to just over 4 ounces giving it more hefty presence but remaining slim enough to totally disappear into your pocket.
So, if you are looking for a hard core, heavy use blade that you can carry comfortably every day but still have a knife with a refined, sophisticated look. . . maybe the Demko AD20.5 with AWT aluminum scales is what you have been looking for!
